Medium Bio

If a traumatic event has devastated you—you are not alone.

After Shauna’s home burned in the 2012 Waldo Canyon fire, she wrote the book she needed, but couldn’t find—one with stories of others who experienced trauma and learned how to thrive after disaster. Fire of Hope: Finding Treasure in the Rubble shares her experience and the heart-felt stories of other survivors. Peer into the lives of people who viewed their crisis as a journey to heal and overcame calamity.

We all have fires in our lives. Loved ones die. We lose our job. We suffer injustice. Health issues interrupt our plans. A brother betrays us. Dreams die.

No matter what challenges you’ve encountered, you can thrive.

Shauna created Thrive With Hope, a web-based community www.shaunahoey.com to provide a safe place for you to connect with others who understand your distress. If you have been traumatized by a catastrophic event, Thrive With Hope provides resources, encouragement, and connection with others who survived trauma and learned to thrive.
